Princess Camp: The Process

Aside from working on the final book in the Girl of Glass series, my husband and I have also been working on a children’s show.

Princess Camp: The Musical.

I wrote the script and lyrics, and my husband composed and orchestrated the project.

I don’t want to be sappy, but being able to work on a project with your spouse is amazing. Getting to create something from nothing with them is unbelievable. And now, we even have a logo for the show!

It might not seem like the biggest deal, but to me it’s huge. It makes the whole thing seem a lot more real!

We’re working on demo tracks for the show (since it’s a kid show, it will be performed with pre-

recorded tracks). And we’re having singers record with those tracks so theatres can get a better idea of the music. And then it will be time to submit to theatres.

That’s going to be an entirely new process, and I’m not sure of either the ins and outs or the timelines we’ll be dealing with. But there’s no success without starting at the beginning, and that’s what we’re going to do!
